Mata Ortiz, a small rural village in Chihuahua, Mexico, became famous for its pottery thanks to Juan Quezada, who, at the age of 15, began studying ancient pottery shards from the Paquimé culture. After 15 years of observation and experimentation, he successfully recreated the traditional pottery-making techniques, inspiring a community of over 300 local ceramists.
